嘉義縣番路鄉公興社區發展協會公興村在日治時代原屬公田大字，光復後，分北為公田村，南為公興村。現今村名採(公)大字名，加上是新(興)的村，所以取名為公興村。社區行政區域約20平方公里，平均海拔高度約800m，公興村聚落零散，分佈於阿里山公路道路兩旁，社區分作9鄰。社區生態資源豐富，除特有的山羌、長鬃山羊、深山竹雞外，包括國寶藍腹鷴也在社區公約保護下，數量逐漸增加，甚至成了公興社區的代表。為加強公、私有林經營管理，營造健康優質森林，發揮林產物生產及生物多樣性等功能，嘉義林區管理處極力輔導嘉義縣公興社區集結租地造林地林主籌組嘉義縣第1家「阿里山林業生產合作社」，是嘉義縣第1個由國有林事業區出租造林地33位個體小農所共同發起。阿里山林業生產合作社在2019年底申請在林下種植「金線連」，已有初步成果，運用綠竹竹筒作為容器培植金線連，並將開發商品導入生態課程，打破大眾對金線連只能當食材的想法，開創另類經濟效益。

Chiayi County, Fanlu Township, The Gongxing Community Development Association

Gongxing Village, originally known as Koden Oaza, was a public land district during the Japanese colonial period. After the retrocession, it was divided into Gongtian Village in the north and Gongxing Village in the south. The village name "Gongxing" combines the character for "Gong" (公) with the character for "Xing" (興), signifying a newly thriving village. The community covers an administrative area of approximately 20 square kilometers, with an average elevation of around 800 meters. Gongxing Village is scattered along the Alishan Highway, with 9 neighborhoods.

The community is rich in ecological resources. In addition to endemic species such as Formosan sambar deer, long-haired mountain goats, and Taiwan blue magpies, the protected status of the national treasure, the blue magpie, has led to its increasing population, making it a representative species of the Gongxing community. To enhance the management of public and private forests, create healthy and high-quality forests, and promote the production of forest products and biodiversity, the Chiayi Forest District Office has actively supported the establishment of the "Alishan Forestry Production Cooperative," which is the first forestry cooperative initiated by 33 individual small-scale farmers leasing afforestation land from the state-owned forest business district in Chiayi County.

The Alishan Forestry Production Cooperative, which applied for the cultivation of "Filigree Orchids" under the forest canopy in late 2019, has achieved preliminary results. The cooperative utilizes green bamboo culms as containers for cultivating Filigree Orchids and has introduced eco-friendly courses as part of their product development, breaking the common perception that Filigree Orchids can only be used as a food ingredient and creating alternative economic benefits.
